Webseriesupdate.com sat down with the Lumber Baron himself, Dave R. Watkins, to ask him some questions about the web series. Here’s a brief except:

Web Series Update: For those that haven’t seen it, how would you describe “The Lumber Baron of Jasper County?”

It’s an ensemble comedy web series that deals with the employees and customers at a Lumber Supply store where the owner has become stuck in an “over the top” TV personality he created to increase sales. It deals with different escalating situations that derive from misunderstandings, miscommunications and personality clashes.

WSU: How did you come up with the idea for the series?

The idea of making it as a web series sort of came to me one morning last year when driving home sleep-deprived after a late night shoot. I had been wanting to write and produce a web series, but hadn’t come up with a feasible idea; when the concept had been right in front of my face the whole time.
